Sophie Baker Heads up Hamilton Island Communications Team

Hamilton Island, announced today that Sophie Baker has joined the company as Senior Communications Manager, a newly created role.

Sophie will be responsible for managing all public, corporate and media relations, as well as internal communications for Hamilton Island, qualia and the company’s other related entities. Sophie is also tasked with upholding and building upon the company’s reputation in both the corporate and wider community.

Based in the Sydney Head Office, Sophie will manage two direct reports – Joanne Wilkinson (Communications Manager) and Katie Cahill (Regional Communications Manager). She will concentrate on the company’s continued dedication and commitment to communicating with key stakeholders, and also placing an emphasis on servicing the particular needs of the luxury travel, tourism and lifestyle industries.

With a career spanning just under two decades, Sophie now brings her rich and varied experience in luxury goods and publishing, having worked agency-side across fashion, lifestyle and retail sectors on brands such as Louis Vuitton, Giorgio Armani, Loewe, Piper-Heidsieck Champagne and the launch of W Sydney Hotel, Woolloomooloo. Sophie also has had ten years PR and Marketing tenures including Chanel and Australian Consolidated Press (ACP), working across Harper’s BAZAAR, Cleo and Cosmopolitan magazines. Most recently Sophie was instrumental in building the brand for start-up beauty company ModelCo.
