'pas de deux in paradise' 2012
The Australian Ballet is returning to qualia for another exclusive weekend of ‘pas de deux in paradise’ from 16-18 November 2012.
Now in its fifth year at qualia, this unique event provides the opportunity to go ‘behind the scenes’ with The Australian Ballet, as well as the chance to attend a rare and exclusive outdoor performance performed by this world renowned dance company.
To commence the weekend you are invited to an intimate dinner at qualia, which includes a q&a session for your chance to gain an insight to the life of the artists and Artistic Director, David McAllister. The program of events continues on Saturday with a morning class on stage with the crescendo of the weekend to be held in the evening. Under a glittering sky and with a backdrop of the Whitsunday Islands The Australian Ballet will perform a repertoire of pas de deuxs from the great classic ballets. At the conclusion of the performance an exclusive and intimate dinner will be held prepared especially by qualia’s Executive Chef Jane-Therese Mulry.

'pas de deux in paradise' 2011
A breathtaking performance by The Australian Ballet was the centrepiece of another wonderfully intimate weekend at qualia for this years 'pas de deux in paradise', held from 1 – 3 July. Between champagne lunches and elegant dinners, guests were able to interact with the dancers – this year four principal artists; as well as the artistic director from the Ballet; and renowned choreographer, Graeme Murphy AO and his partner Janet Vernon AO.
Television personality, Catriona Rowntree, brought her usual sparkling style to the weekend as she directed opportunities for Q&As and emceed a Class on Stage as well as the breathtaking sunset performance which featured excerpts from Merry Widow, Don Quixote and Swan Lake. The Australian Ballet will celebrate its 5th anniversary at qualia in November 2012.
