King of the Mountain - Part of Hamilton Island CupHamilton Island Weddings King of the Mountain Foot Race

Saturday 22 June 2012 at 4.00pm

At 229m above sea level, Passage Peak is the highest point on Hamilton Island. The challenge is to cover the 6km testing trail to the very top and back again as fast as you can! After a flat opening section through the resort, the race sees athletes hit the bush trail, ascending quickly over 800m before racing over the plateau to Saddle Junction before the climbing begins again.

The final 200m to the Peak is all steps and the lungs and legs will be burning! Despite the stunning views, there’s no time for sightseeing as athletes turn tail and make their way back down again.

So often the spoils have gone to the fearless, who throw caution to the wind and fly back down for a stunning beachside finish. This is a race to be experienced.

Cash Prizes will be awarded for first place Male and first place Female
