Nature and Wildlife on Hamilton Island
The wildlife of the Whitsundays is bountiful and often exceptional. Some islands are home to the kangaroo’s smaller relative, the wallaby, as well as goannas – large, lumbering lizard-like reptiles. Sea eagles, kites and ospreys entertain with their food-gathering skills, while raucous sulphur-crested cockatoos and cackling kookaburras make their presence known within the forests..
Get back to nature on Hamilton Island with a leisurely bushwalk to one of the many secluded beaches and coves. For those that are a little more adventurous a trek to the top of passage peak provides some of the best views in the Whitsundays. Wild Life Hamilton Island, located near the Resort Centre, provides an exceptional opportunity to get up close and personal with some unique Australian wildlife.
