Beach Sports: Make a beeline for Catseye Beach to paddle a kayak, steer a paddle board and feel the buzz of windsurfing. Our friendly Beach Sports team are on hand to share tips of mastering the waves with windsurfing, kayaking and paddle board lessons.

Palm Valley: Teens can put their skills to the test at adrenaline-charged Palm Valley – take aim with target sports, go for a rough and ready off-road ride on a quad bike or practise that golf swing at the Aquatic Driving Range.

Golf: Wannabe Greg Normans won’t want to miss playing a round on the region’s best golf course, Hamilton Island Golf Course on neighbouring Dent Island. Teens new to the game can learn the ropes at a golf clinic.

Beauty Spa: Gossip Girls can hydrate skin dried by sun and surf at Hamilton Island’s luxurious Spa wumurdaylin day spa, with soothing body treatments, spa facials and aromatherapy massage.

Art Classes: Painting lessons led by guest artists-in-residence will unlock your teen’s hidden talents, and provide budding artists with the tools to capture our island paradise in paint.

Fun for the Whole Family

Family-friendly holidays on Hamilton Island crank up the action with beach and yachting safaris for active days on the water with older kids and teens.

Beach Safari: Share a morning nature walk to Tongue Bay, swim at blissful Whitehaven Beach and sail through the Whitsundays – and teens can have the afternoon free to do whatever they choose.

Yacht Charter: Pack a picnic and man the helm of a chartered yacht to set your own itinerary through the Whitsundays, or follow the lead of an experienced skipper. It’ll be a day of exploring, swimming and relaxing at sea.

Bait Reef: Teens can learn to dive and snorkel the spectacular coral of Bait Reef Marine Park – the snorkelling is seriously good in this protected lagoon, with rays, turtles, soft corals and reef fish, and it’s the ideal introduction before dipping a toe into deeper water.

Sunset Sail: Get together at the end of the day for a sunset sail aboard the Banjo Paterson, with soft drinks and nibbles, beer and bubbles for adults, and peace and tranquillity for all!

Sport Fishing: Spend some downtime with your teen with a rod and a line. Everything is provided for a morning or afternoon of sport fishing with Rapture Charters – and who knows, you might land a coral trout, Spanish mackerel or giant trevally.

Local teens know Hamilton Island inside and out, including where to find the island’s best secluded beaches.

Bushwalks: More than 70 per cent of Hamilton Island is protected by national park, so pack a backpack and follow more than 20 kilometres of bushwalking trails winding across the island to hidden inlets like secluded Escape Beach and Coral Cove.

Snorkelling: You don’t need to go far to snorkel the coral – Hamilton Island is surrounded by an encircling coral reef, only a short paddle from Catseye Beach at low tide.

Tennis & Squash: Book a tennis court and share a game of doubles or singles, or make a date for a game of squash or racquetball at the Hamilton Island Sports Club.
