It’s a great place to pick up those extra items or pick up quality clothing options to remember the week of sailing. 2) Live it up with live music at the free concert series at Front St each night. Get together with friends and crew to de-brief on the days racing with a cold Furphy from the Crew Bar. After presentations and when the sun begins to set Front St will come alive with a huge range of musical acts performing each night. Be sure to make a booking as last year we were booked out, even after the team saw more people than they had ever before. 4) All the fun in the sun for Lay Day On Wednesday, we welcome a rest from the fierce sailing competition and shift to the festivities of Lay Day with sailing taking a break for the day. The island becomes abuzz with activities and a carnival like atmosphere. Those in the know head to the Summer Bright pool party and settle in for a day of fun. We spy a pool party and a whole lot of fun! Photo by Ken Butti An insider tip is to get there at a reasonable time and score yourself a sun lounge, find a pool toy to float on and let the tunes of the live band wash over you. The beverages will be flowing with the Furphy crew poolside with their very own bar. We’ll also have island favorite Mr Sizzle standing by for pool side snacks. Shakers at the ready... Either soak up the atmosphere of Race Week at the Piper-Heidsieck Sunset Bar and enjoy a glass of French Chamapgne or make your way to the Kettle One Esspresso Martini bar where expert mixologist will be shaking and stirring the perfect cocktail. It’s a great spot to enjoy a beer with your crew members before dinning on the best that Hamilton Island has to offer.
