7 dining experiences you can enjoy on Hamilton Island Posted by Hamilton Island - 16 December 2016 With sophisticated, award-winning restaurants, laid-back cafés and takeaway options, there are plenty of ways to enjoy eating and drinking on Hamilton Island. 1) Excite your tastebuds at coca chu Inspired by hawker-style street food, diners can savour bold Asian flavours with a relaxed Australian feel when dining at coca chu. The fresh, fun and innovative menu is perfect for any guests looking to try something unique and tasty during their holiday. Our pick: Son In Law Eggs Chef Adam Woodflied explains: “This dish wins everyone over (even if they don’t like eggs – just ask my wife!) I can’t get enough of the sweet caramel sauce, the creaminess of the yolks and the final sourness from the green mango. However the best part of the dish is the Thai story behind it: Back in the day before the daughter and her fiancé tied the knot, the fiancé had to prove himself to the mother in law by cooking. Now unfortunately he was useless at cooking and only capable of cooking an egg. So, he cooked an egg for her. He found some caramel sauce at the back of the stove and poured that over the egg to make it a little more special. To this day, this is why this dish is called the Son In Law Eggs”. Such a beautiful story behind this wonderful dish and certainly one to order. 2) Enjoy a relaxed family meal at Manta Ray Manta Ray is the perfect setting for the entire family to enjoy a relaxed and stress-free meal. Friendly service, a crowd-pleasing menu and tranquil views of the marina, all ensure a laid-back and pleasurable meal together, that your family will love. Our pick: Herbivore pizza With ten pizza options to select from, it’s a tough task to narrow it down to just one. However, if you’ve never had pumpkin on a pizza, it’s time to do yourself a favour and sample this dish. Topped with roasted pumpkin, mozzarella, pesto base, grilled zucchini, feta, rocket, pine nuts and a balsamic glaze, this pizza never disappoints and delivers amazing flavour. It is also incredibly filling, on the healthier side and most importantly a hit with young and old alike. If you do want to sample more then one topping going half/half is always a popular choice. 3) Good time group dining at TAKO If you’re in the mood to get the gang together, eat some tasty treats and enjoy a few drinks, then TAKO is the place for your group of fun seekers to dine.
