You will travel to the Reef on board one of Hamilton Island’s purpose-built, 24-metre catamarans. As well as a dive platform with hydraulically lowered stairs, each catamaran boasts lounge style seating, an air-conditioned interior, partially shaded deck, and freshwater hot and cold showers. Windy Weather Cruise When cruising to the Outer Reef the strength of the wind plays a large factor in the quality of the experience. For guests comfort we know wind strength should be under approx 20knots (35km per hour) to visit the Outer Reef. In the Whitsundays, we are fortunate to have Islands offering protected cruising areas, along with Fringing Reef for snorkelling. On windy days, we change our cruise to within the islands, visiting two separate dive/snorkel sites as well as a stopover at world famous Whitehaven Beach as a bonus.
