Hamilton Island Ocean Swim
Sunday 14 November 2021
Due to social distancing requirements and as the safety of participants is our priority, we have made the decision to host the traditional Whitehaven Beach Ocean Swim on Catseye Beach.
What better location for an ocean swim event than in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef? Push yourself in paradise with a 2km or 750m ocean swim meet, plus a fun 350m junior swim for children 13 years and under. Whether you’re striving for a personal best, or to simply enjoy the view, the Ocean Swim is perfect for all fitness levels and abilities.
If you’re up for the challenge, why not register for the Hamilton Island Triathlon also on Saturday 13 November? Take on the 750m swim in beautiful Catseye Bay, followed by a 20km cycle, and a 5km run through the island’s Marina Village in the individual sprint distance or team relay events. There’s also races for the kids!
This year we also have another exciting event during the Ocean Swim weekend.
Hamilton Island Icons Trail - Take part in a free hike around the Hamilton Island walking trails to find our four iconic landmarks; a 3m tall chair, a giant swing, a hammock and a breathtaking panoramic viewing platform. Discover secluded beaches, sandy coves and natural wildlife. All with spectacular views, this trail can be completed in two hours or two days at a more leisurely pace. Check in at all four icons and receive an achievement medallion.
