Transport Options on Hamilton Island
Getting around Hamilton Island, the largest inhabited island in the Whitsundays, is a breeze. The convenient Island Shuttle service follows three routes around Hamilton Island throughout the day, and it’s free. Hamilton Island is a refreshingly car-free destination, free from the traffic and congestion of city life. Golf buggies are the main form of transport and something of an icon on Hamilton Island, symbolising the fun and freedom of a Whitsundays holiday.
The covered buggies seat two or four people, and are easy and fun to drive. There’s no better way to travel around Hamilton Island, sightsee and get off the beaten track.
Buggies can be hired by the hour, for two or three hours, or for the day (8.30am to 4.30pm). Buggy bookings are recommended, particularly in peak periods.

Hamilton Island Shuttle Bus
The free Island Shuttle follows three routes around the island, with several services an hour scheduled from 7am to 11pm daily.
The free shuttles pick up and drop off at convenient stops throughout Hamilton Island’s different precincts, including the Marina Village, Catseye Beach, resorts and One Tree Hill. The round-trip route around the island takes just over half an hour.
