Whitehaven Beach Ocean Swim
11 November 2012
What better location for an ocean swim event than at one of Australia’s most pristine and iconic beaches, Whitehaven Beach. World famous for its pristine white sand stretching for seven empty kilometres and crystal-clear water, Whitehaven Beach is on neighbouring Whitsunday Island and is regularly voted one of the world’s top beaches. Nestled in the beautiful surrounds of the Great Barrier Reef, one of the world’s seven natural wonders, this annual 2km and 750m ocean swim meet, plus a fun 350m junior swim for children 13 years and under, is sure to become as iconic and famous as its location.
The Fujifilm Whitehaven Beach Ocean Swim is also a proud partner of the Great Australian Swim Series. Founded by Ky Hurst, the
series consists of four ocean swims along the east-coast of Australia at Hamilton Island, the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sydney.
