This includes taking either a PCR or Rapid Antigen Test prior to arrival depending on your circumstance. With this, it is still our intention to make your stay as relaxing and memorable as possible, so we have listed the things you need to know before you travel on this page. Queensland Isolation Directives

If you get COVID-19 while you are on Hamilton Island you will have to isolate yourself for 7 days. For further information on Queensland Government Isolation Directions click here.

For guests staying in Hamilton Island Hotels and Hamilton Island Holiday Homes, below are some answers to frequently asked questions around isolation requirements, which are in line with the Chief Health Officer’s Public Health Directions.

What happens if I am staying on Hamilton Island and I need to isolate?
Guests already staying on Hamilton Island may be able to isolate in the same accommodation subject to availability. Isolation arrangements will need to be made on a case by case basis, depending on accommodation style, group size and in accordance with Queensland Government Isolation Directions. Should you find yourself in a situation whereby you need to isolate, please contact your Hotel or Holiday Homes Guest Services team to discuss your options.

An isolating person is able to relocate to isolate, provided they adhere to QLD Government guidelines part of which includes the requirement to only use private transport to relocate.

What will it cost to isolate on Hamilton Island?
If you are staying at the Reef View Hotel, Beach Club, Palm Bungalows or qualia, you may be able to stay in your room for the isolation period at a reduced nightly rate, subject to availability. If you are unable to stay on due to lack of availability in your hotel, we may be able to relocate you to another hotel, however isolation relocations can only be done with Queensland Health approval and on a case by case basis.

If you are staying in a Hamilton Island Holiday Home and there is availability for you to stay on in the same property for the quarantine period, you will be charged the same nightly rate. If you are unable to stay on due to lack of availability in your property, we may be able to relocate you to one of our hotels with a reduced nightly isolation rate, however isolation relocations can only be done with Queensland Health approval and on a case by case basis.

If you have booked with an independent accommodation provider on Hamilton Island ie if you are NOT staying in the above-mentioned Hamilton Island hotels or Hamilton Island Holiday Homes, you will need to check with them directly on how they are managing isolation in their properties.
Please note that whilst we will make every effort to facilitate guest isolation arrangements on the island, Queensland Health may direct guests to isolate in government-arranged accommodation on the mainland at any time.
