About your stay TRAVEL AND ISLAND UPDATES

COVID mandates, restaurant and tour availability and island maintenance works

Before you arrive

Our island team are thrilled to be welcoming guests again after a long period of uncertainty and closure. With so many guests visiting and returning, the island is busy and some of our restaurant and activity operations continue to be impacted by staffing fluctuations as a result of self-isolation requirements. We are also commencing an Island Renovation Program to address maintenance requirements and product refurbishment. It is our intention to make your stay as relaxing and memorable as possible, so we have listed the things you need to know before you travel on this page. If you need to speak with our Reservations team about your booking, call 137 333 Monday to Friday 9.30am to 5.30pm. This information is correct at 11 April 2022, and is subject to change.

Queensland Isolation Directives

For guests staying in Hamilton Island Hotels and Hamilton Island Holiday Homes, below is a quick summary of our Quarantine Arrangements, in line with Queensland Government Quarantine Directions.

What happens if I am staying on Hamilton Island and I need to quarantine?
Guests already staying on Hamilton Island may be able to quarantine in the same accommodation subject to availability. Quarantine arrangements will need to be made on a case by case basis, depending on accommodation style, group size and in accordance with Queensland Government Quarantine Directions. Should you find yourself in a situation whereby you need to quarantine, please contact your Hotel or Holiday Homes Guest Services team to discuss your options.

What will it cost to quarantine on Hamilton Island?
If you are staying at the Reef View hotel, Beach Club, Palm Bungalows or qualia, you may be able to stay in your room for the quarantine period at a reduced nightly rate, subject to availability. If you are unable to stay on due to lack of availability in your hotel, we may be able to relocate you to another hotel, however quarantine relocations can only be done with Queensland Health approval and on a case by case basis.

If you are staying in a Hamilton Island Holiday Home and there is availability for you to stay on in the same property for the quarantine period, you will be charged the same nightly rate. If you are unable to stay on due to lack of availability in your property, we may be able to relocate you to one of our hotels with a reduced nightly quarantine rate, however quarantine relocations can only be done with Queensland Health approval and on a case by case basis.

If you have booked with an independent accommodation provider on Hamilton Island ie if you are NOT staying in the above-mentioned Hamilton Island hotels or Hamilton Island Holiday Homes, you will need to check with them directly on how they are managing quarantine in their properties.

What happens if I don’t comply with Queensland Government Quarantine Directions?
Penalties apply if you do not follow Queensland Government Quarantine Directions, see Questions about Enforcement in the FAQ section here.

Please note that whilst we will make every effort to facilitate guest quarantine arrangements on the island, Queensland Health may direct guests to quarantine in government-arranged accommodation on the mainland at any time.
