Hamilton Island brings you Taylor Swift in Nova’s Red Room Posted 26 October 2015 Hamilton Island, in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, was the location of choice for music superstar, Taylor Swift. As part of Nova’s biggest Red Room ever, Swift treated 100 lucky fans to an unforgettable and intimate experience at one of Australia’s most iconic destinations. Taylor Swift, a seven-time Grammy Award winner and the youngest recipient of the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, played hits from her 1989 album, including Wildest Dreams and Shake it Off. The performance was held during the Australian leg of Swift’s much acclaimed 1989 World Tour, with fans winning access to the intimate performance by listening to their local Nova radio station. Swift is the only artist in history to have three albums hit 1,000,000 sales in the first week of release and was recently named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World and has twice been voted Billboard Magazine’s Woman of the Year. But it wasn't all work during her visit to Hamilton Island. Swift took time out to relext and re-charge at the end of a long and wonderful tour. She was stoked to be able to take her band and crew on a well deserved vacation to thank them for all of their hard work during the year. Ever the humble young woman she's know to be, Swift also posted a heartfelt thank you to Hamilton Island staff for taking such good care of her crew. She recalls her favourite part of her island visit: “My band and crew, they all went out and explored and scuba dived and had all kinds of Great Barrier Reef fun, and that was so cool to hear how much fun they had.”
