Our Hamilton Island Babymoon at Beach Club Posted by Louise Marshall-Tedeschi - 5 December 2016 With a baby due at the end of the year and finding ourselves busier than ever, my husband and I decided it was high time that we took a much-needed break. Deciding on a destination involved a few very important non-negotiable factors: there needed to be perfect swimming weather, pregnancy massages, and many mocktails, preferably served in a coconut, thanks! Wonderfully, I discovered Hamilton Island provides all three in abundance. Palm trees and coconuts are mandatory for a tropical getaway Also, as we had limited time to be away we wanted a destination, which was easy and quick to get to, so as not to eat into our pool and relaxation time. Again, Hamilton Island easily ticked that box. After looking at the accommodation we decided that the relaxed luxury of the Beach Club resort suited us best and booked in. The stunning view out to Catseye Beach from the resort. After a quick two-hour flight from Sydney, we were welcomed warmly by the staff at Beach Club, who provided a direct transfer to their incredible resort. Almost instantly I felt relaxed. The staff could not do enough for us and made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. It’s such a pleasure being looked after like that! The short journey to the resort provided our first proper glimpse of the island. We took in the turquoise water, swaying palm trees and soon arrived at Beach Club. After being welcomed with Champagne and mocktails, we were checked into our beautiful room. Our lovely room at Beach Club. Looking directly out onto the tranquil Catseye Beach, we loved the luxe furnishings, plush bed and Aesop products. A bottle of wine and a soft cheese platter greeted us. Sadly, I couldn't enjoy the brie but my husband was happy to indulge and I delightfully made do with some chocolate. Pool essentials at Beach Club. Our stay was a blissful three days of soaking up sunshine by the gorgeous infinity pool, sunset drinks at One Tree Hill, and some incredibly delicious meals. We loved the à la carte breakfast options served each morning at Beach Club and the poolside service. Our most memorable meal would have to be the dinner we enjoyed at coca chu, where we were blown away by the bold Asian flavours and innovative dishes to select from. One of the amazing dishes we sampled at coca chu. One of the highlights of our stay was a day trip to the stunning Whitehaven Beach, which truly did have the whitest, most powdery sand I have ever seen. Pinching ourselves on the journey home we were lucky enough to see a whale and her calf play alongside the boat and it’s an experience we’ll both remember forever. The incredible beauty of Whitehaven Beach really needs to be seen to be believed. The next day we had to make peace with the fact we were heading home and our fantastic getaway had come to an end. Our stay at Hamilton Island was exactly what we needed - an entirely stress-free mini break before the crazy adventure of parenthood begins! Enjoying some much needed relaxation and sunshine before our little one arrives. About the Author Louise lives in Sydney working as an Art Director at a travel magazine.
