How to Enter
Chartered Ferry Service
Hamilton Island has chartered two Cruise Whitsunday vessels to transfer competitors and spectators to/from Whitehaven Beach on Sunday 27 June 2021. The cost of this transfer is included in the event registration fee and spectator tickets must be purchased at time of registration, or added prior to Thursday 24 June 2021 if availability permits.

Return time back to Hamilton Island will be determined at the conclusion of presentations; we anticipate approximately 3.00pm, then onto Port of Airlie by approximately 4.00pm. Please note that times may vary on the day.

If the event it not sold out prior to Saturday 26 June, late registrations will available for those staying on Hamilton Island only.
Late registrations, if the event has not sold out prior, will be available at Race Kit Collection, Saturday 26 June 2021, 3.00 – 5.00pm, in the Reef Lounge, Reef View Hotel, Hamilton Island.

- 21.1km - Competitors must be a minimum of 16 years old as at 27 June 2021
- 10km - Competitors must be a minimum of 12 years old as at 27 June 2021
- 5km - Competitors must be a minimum of 8 years old as at 27 June 2021
- 1.5km - Competitors must be 15 years or younger as at 27 June 2021
- 500m - Competitors must be 15 years or younger as at 27 June 2021
No qualification required. First 3 across the line.
Open place getters are not eligible for age group prize.

Pre Event Participation
You must ensure that you have trained sufficiently and are physically capable of completing the event within your current level of health and fitness. You must also ensure at all times during the event that you are performing well within your level of skill and ability. To not abide by these conditions can create potentially dangerous situation for yourself and other competitors.
Race Kit Collection
Race Kit Collection for all competitors travelling from Hamilton Island, will be held on Saturday 26 June 2021, 3.00pm - 5.00pm in the Reef Lounge, Reef View Hotel - Hamilton Island.
All competitors travelling from Airlie Beach on Sunday 27 June 2021, are required to check in with the Hamilton Island Event Team at the Cruise Whitsunday Terminal, Port of Airlie, 6.30am – 7.15am; you will then receive your race kit on route to Whitehaven Beach following the departure ex Hamilton Island.
Please bring a printed copy of your receipt. It is compulsory for all athletes to register during this time. You must show identification (Driver's License, Passport etc). You will receive your race pack during this time which includes your Great Whitehaven Beach race t-shirt and other sponsor products.
Race Briefing / Race Start
There will be a pre-race briefing at Whitehaven Beach on Sunday 27 June for all competitors directly before the start of their race.
Any athlete seen to be taking a shortcut during the event will be disqualified. iPod use is allowed but only one earphone is permitted to be worn to allow ease of communication with officials. This is a beach run and use of shoes are optional.
Withdrawals prior to the event must be in writing – email
email@example.com If you withdraw on race day before race start, please advise an Official. The cancellation fee is 100% should you pull out the day of the race. If you withdraw during the race, please report to and advise the Officials that you have withdrawn, returning your timing chip at this point. The cancellation fee is 100% should you pull out during the race.
Changes to Entry
Changes can be made until close of entries on Wednesday 23 June. Any changes after that time can be made at registration on Saturday or on race morning.
100% non-refundable if you cancel within 7 days of the event.
Cruise Whitsundays Ferry Transfers
Competitors will receive complimentary travel between Port of Airlie/Shute Harbour and Hamilton Island, when travelling for pre and post stays on Hamilton Island, with a 50% discount extended to up to 1 adult and 2 children travelling (i.e. family and partners). To obtain the promotion code please email firstname.lastname@example.org once you have completed your registration of travel. Competitors must be able to provide proof of entry at time of booking and on the day of travel.
Competitors registered for the Great Whitehaven Beach Run on Sunday 27 June 2021, will have transfers to/from Whitehaven Beach included in their registration fee, spectator tickets must be purchased with a competitor registration. The chartered ferry service will depart from Port of Airlie marina at 7:30am, arriving at Hamilton Island Marina at 8:30am, departing Hamilton Island Marina at once boarding is complete soon after 8.30am, arriving at Whitehaven Beach at 9.15am.

It is strongly advised that you take out personal medical insurance for the duration of your stay, especially for international competitors. Under the Australian Health Act, all non-Australians are not covered financially for personal injury. If you do have an accident you must pay for your own medical expenses. Therefore it is essential for you to obtain adequate personal medical insurance.
