Q: Is there public transport available to and from Hamilton Island Airport?
A - Please view our Transfers page, you will find all the information you require regarding how to get to or from the Airport.
Q: Does Hamilton Island Airport have more than one terminal?
A - Hamilton Island Airport only has one terminal. The terminal is only a few meters away from our check-in hall.
Q: How early do I need to be at the airport before my flight?
A - Most domestic airlines require you to be at the check in counter at least 45 minutes before departure. We encourage you to read all the available information provided to you by your airline as they will advise their preferred times.
Q: Is the Airport open 24 hours?
A - No. The Airport is open from 08:00 – 16:00 every day however these hours may be extended due to delays. For security reasons, the Airport is closed at 16:00 and all guests are kindly ask to leave the terminal building. Cruise Whitsundays passengers awaiting their vessel are welcomed to wait in the airport’s shaded courtyard area.
Q: Does the Airport offer free WiFi?
A - Yes. Throughout the Terminal building and it’s surrounding you can connect to our free, secure and fast WiFi.
Q: Is there an ATM at the Airport?
A - No, there are no ATM’s or money withdrawing facilities at the airport. Please note that a 1.25% surcharge applies for all ‘credit’ and ‘tap and go’ transactions made on the island via credit or debit card. Payments can be made fee free via EFTPOS by inserting your card and selecting a cheque and/or savings account at the terminal.
Q: Are there any showers at the Airport?
A - No, there are no shower facilities at the Airport.
Q: Are there lockers available or storage rooms for my luggage?
A - No however, you may contact the airline you are flying with and enquire if they are willing to accept your luggage earlier than expected.
Q: How do I find out if my flight is delayed or early?
A - You may visit our online Arrivals & Departure webpage that is automatically updated every 3 minutes with the most recent flight information.
Q: I have lost my property in the terminal, what should I do?
A - Please complete a Lost Property form and if the item is in our possession, we will be sure to contact you to arrange the safe return of your belongings.
Q: I have lost my property on the aircraft, what should I do?
A - Forgotten items on an aircraft are the airline’s responsibility. We recommend you contact the customer support centre of the airline you flew with.
Q: I am flying to Hamilton Island in order to board a Cruise Whitsunday ferry to Daydream Island, Port of Airlie or Shute Harbour. What should I do?
A - Cruise Whitsunday’s ferries often stop at the Airport jetty to allow embarking and disembarking of passengers. You should contact Cruise Whitsundays and review their timetable to ensure correct times and availability.
