Knock over your regular gym session at our state-of-the-art Sports Club The Hamilton Island Sports Club offers a diverse range of ways to counteract any holiday indulgence – or simply keep you on track. You can pick the style of session that suits you: Take one of the fun classes, with options for all fitness levels. Book in for a personal training session and be worked through your paces. Or, simply come in for a solo session and make use of the array of equipment for weights or cardio. Best of all, it’s all in air conditioning, which definitely helps on a tropical island. Use of the gym is complimentary for guests residing at qualia, Beach Club, Reef View Hotel and Palm Bungalows. Fees for other island guests can be found here. Take the challenge of running or hiking our trails Exploring Hamilton Island on foot can be a great way to get back to nature, at your own pace. Discover secluded beaches, sandy coves and stunning views – being outdoors makes you feel good! With recent upgrades and regular track maintenance, it has never been easier to head out into nature for a long walk or a hilly trail run. Best of all, you can combine fitness with sightseeing, which means you enjoy a physical and mental escape at the same time. We always recommend you bring plenty of water, ensuring a bathroom stop before you journey out (there are no toilets on the tracks). Also make sure you wear appropriate footwear and pack sunscreen. Refresh, relax and unwind with a yoga class The island offers weekly yoga classes for a range of abilities and styles. Yoga classes are typically held in the Sports Club but have also been scheduled at incredible outdoor locations around the island, such as sunset yoga on the Keel Deck at the Hamilton Island Yacht Club or sunrise yoga at the Hamilton Island Golf Club on Dent Island. Yoga is the perfect holiday exercise for those wanting to move their body but also enjoy relaxation in a class that captures our island location. Tick off a Hamilton Island Park Run Join us for a fun 5km timed run around scenic Hamilton Island. This is a free event hosted by Park Run volunteers, and it is open to people of all fitness levels. It’s a great way to get active and start your Saturday morning amid nature. If you're an avid Park Runner it’s a fun way of ticking off another Park Run location on your list. But for those that are new to the concept, it's really just about getting the chance to start your day with some fitness amid a community of like-minded people while enjoying the scenic course we have mapped out for our run. Whether it's your first park run or your 100th, it's always a great way to start your day on Hamilton Island. Get active in the water with swimming or beach sports With the range of swimming pools on Hamilton Island, it’s easy to have a swim; it’s also a great way to mix holiday fun with being active. We also have a range of beach sports available such as kayaks, paddleboards, snorkel gear and sailing, which are fantastic ways of moving your body and getting the heart rate up. If you’ve never tried these beach sports before, it’s the perfect time to give them a go and test out your skills, too. Tee off for 18 holes at the Hamilton Island Golf Club Making time to get in a round of golf can be a challenging task in everyday life. Holidays are the ideal time to lock in nine or 18 holes. This outdoor leisure sport is a fantastic low-impact physical activity. As an added bonus, you’ll get fresh air while being amid nature. The Hamilton Island Golf Course is one of the most stunning in the world, and a reward for your hard work is waiting at the well-appointed 19th hole at the Club House at the end of your round. Participate in one of our Endurance Series events If you really love fitness and staying healthy, you'll be pleased to know that you could base your entire vacation to Hamilton Island around physical activity by entering one of our many endurance series events. Why simply holiday on Hamilton Island when you can race it as well? We have a triathlon, a hilly half marathon (with team events), an ocean swim and also a stunning running event with 5km, 10km and half marathon options. It’s a great excuse to mix your holiday with a fitness challenge and push yourself in paradise to reach health goals. Play a game of tennis We’ve got rackets, balls and six perfectly appointed tennis courts all ready for you to hold your own Grand Slam while on holiday on Hamilton Island. Reserve a court through the Sports Club and work up a sweat by hitting a ball around for some social (or serious) tennis. Courts are open daily and court and equipment hire is free for guests of qualia, Beach Club, Reef View Hotel and Palm Bungalows (otherwise fees apply).
